The Aida seating collection is the winning project of the “ideas x wood” 2022 contest for the Carpanelli Award “A new touch of elegance” in the professional category, promoted by TABU and sponsored by ADI, FederlegnoArredo and FSC Italia. After a product prototyping phase that started in November 2022, the project went into production in February 2023 and was subsequently presented at the Milan Furniture Fair in April.
The Aida collection stems from a search for sober, minimalist elements, the result of which is an archetype that harmonises well with various possible uses in the domestic space. The legs descend towards the ground, opening slightly outwards to give greater stability to the structure and to lend a classic touch to the seat. The wraparound back folds down at the sides into two wings that serve as armrests: the result is a greater comfort and maximum enhancement of the wood grain.
The particular structure, designed in different essences and with different seats, can be combined with many types of leather and fabrics. The result is a seat that can be customised to suit the aesthetics and style of the room. In the photography on the right the essence is a wenge-stained ash combined with fabric. In the pictures on the previous pages, the armchair is a ash wengè stained wood combined with a natural leather.
